Running Away

Later, they were all awoken when the pawn shop owner opened the bookcase and shook them awake. "Take only what you can fit in your pockets." She instructed gruffly. "You're moving to difffrent safehouses tonight."

Adam sighed, and pulled out his iPod from his backpack. "I guess this is it," He said, and looked at Mina.

Trent sighed also. "I've got this," He said, holding up a comb. "That's it."

Mina made sure she had the lighter in her pocked at looked at Brittani who was hugging her son to her chest.

"Now Sweetheart." The old woman said, kneeling down in front of the girl with some difficulty. "You can't take the baby with you. I've found a family that will take him and if you come back after you're 17 I'll even give you thier information. he'll be in good hands." Brittani hesitated for a moment and kissed her son's forehead, handing him over. She blinked tears out of her eyes as they were all ushered outside where there were two trucks.

Adam let out a long sigh, looking at Brittani. He felt bad for her, knowing how bad it must have felt to leave her baby behind.

Trent looked at Mina, smirking to himself. There's still a chance.

A rather tired looking person stepped out of one of the trucks and pushed Mina and Trent in one and Adam and Brittani in the other. Lovely. Mina grimaced, looking around and seeing there were other people in the truck as well.

Trent smirked wider. Yes! He looked at Mina. "Looks like it's just me and you," He said.

She rolled her eyes and scooted as far as possible away from Trent.

Brittani, unable to keep her tears in, started quietly crying.

Adam looked at Brittani. "Are you okay?" He asked, wanting to comfort her.

"Oh come on," Trent said, scooting closer to her.

Brittani nodded, hastily wiping at her eyes.

"Oh god..." She muttered to herself and looked away from him.

He rolled his eyes, and put his hand on her leg. "Come on, it's just us," He said with a smirk.

Adam looked her up and down. "You sure?"
